Michael Tarlton Bond, aka Tarlton, is a self-taught watercolor artist.  A native of New Mexico, Tarlton grew up on a ranch in SW Colorado. He and his wife reside near Seattle, WA.  Over the past 30, years he has executed commissioned pieces around the globe for a variety of corporations and individuals.

The focus of Tarlton's art changed dramatically in 2001, in the wake of xenophobia and nationalism that swept the country.  He began focusing his art on celebrating the myriad faces of humanity.

In 2002, he wrote and illustrated, My Brothers' Eyes, a pictorial tribute to the common identity and destiny of the human community.

With no previous experience, out of pure passion to create beauty, he sat down at age 18 and started painting exquisitely from the beginning.  "Passion opens doors to information and situations you never knew were there. Fear keeps doors closed.  If your passion is greater than your fear you can accomplish anything.

From the artist:
Surround yourself with beauty.  It is your natural environment.  The only true strengths humans have are the ability to create and share beauty and give aid.   They are the purpose and identity of every human.
Beauty in its highest form is not expressed through paint, song or dance, but through our interactions.
